Largely due to the arrival of Ryanair the passenger traffic at Valladolid has grown from just 195,000 passengers in 2001 to just over 479,716 in 2008. Over 13,000 flights were handled there last year. Valladolid is the capital city of the Castile - Leon area and the airport is around 10 kms outside of the City centre.
